We are now taking bookings for our flu vaccination clinics starting on the 24th of September.  Please call the surgery and support us by booking an appointment as soon as possible.

Online Services have now been initiated and can be accessed through EMIS Patient Access.  You will need to obtain a unique registration letter from the Practice to sign-up. Please ask at reception.

Friends and Family Test

The FFT has been introduced to General Practice to allow patients who use GP services to have the opportunity to feedback on their experience.  It will provide a continuous feedback loop between our patients and the Practice and will be used to improve services.  The FFT is anonymous and has been kept as simple as possible.  The FFT must use standard wording and must include at least one follow-up question.  The results will be published in the Practice and will be forwarded to NHS England monthly.

Help us to improve the services provided to and for you - tell us what you think; take the FFT.

 Electronic Prescription Service

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the pharmacy you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.

For more information please enquire at Reception.

New Patient Registrationregister_now

We welcome new patients, and encourage all members of a family or household to register together. If you would like to join us, please ask for a registration form and health questionnaire. Alternatively you can download our registration forms from the “Registering Online” tab above.

From a health authority perspective, you are registered with the practice as a whole, however, to maximise continuity of care, the Abingdon Surgery runs an ‘own list system’ for its partners.  This means that each patient is allocated to a partner who will be the doctor that they usually see. However, should you need to see a specific doctor, for example a female doctor, you should make your needs known when making your appointment.

You will need to bring the completed forms to the practice, together with:

  • Photo ID: either a passport or photo driving licence.
  • Proof of Address:  utility bill / rent agreement / bank statement / or driving licence if not used as photo ID.

Your registration cannot be completed and confirmed without production of these forms of ID.

Please note, the surgery will need at least two days to process your registration before an appointment can be made, except in an emergency.

Guide to GP Services

The Royal College of General Practitioners has produced a useful guide for patients about the services on offer at GP Surgeries and how to access them.  You can download the guide below.
